Flash floods inundate Kulgam, Qazigund villages | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, June 24: Many villages located on banks of Vaishaw nallah in south Kashmir’s Kulgam area got submerged due to flash floods hitting the area on late Wednesday night. Sources told Early Times the villages which have been submerged include Kharpora, Nowpora, Batpora, Nawbal, Khudwani, Hussan pora bagh, Arwani and other adjoining villages. They said that many villages located on the banks of river Sandran in Qazigund area were also submerged due to flash floods. District administration has sounded flood alert in Anantnag district also as water level at Sangam reached 22 ft, danger mark sources said, adding all the major rivers in south Kashmir, including Lidder are flowing dangerously and water level is increasing due to incessant rainfall since this morning. |
