Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Gold Cup | Tawi Sports, JKCC win cricket ties | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 24: Tawi Sports Club and JKCC won their respective matches in the ongoing Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Gold Cup Cricket Tournament at Government High School ground, Satwari Cantonment, here today. In the first match of the day, Tawi Sports defeated Young XI by 62 runs. Batting first, Tawi Sports made 158 runs for five wickets in allotted 20 overs. Raghav made highest 51 runs. In reply, Young XI could make 96 runs to lose the match. Mohit Gupta was top scorer with 38 runs. Surinder, who took five wickets from Tawi Sports, was declared man of the match. Meanwhile, in another match of the tournament, JKCC trounced Star Cricket Club to move into the next round. Batting first, Star Club set a target of 142 runs with Kala (38 off 29 balls) being top scorer. Later, JKCC attained the goal of 142 runs with Ashu hitting the winning shot. Ashu, who scored 17 runs and also took four wickets, was named man of the match. |
