Timber traders asked to get depots registered with Forest Department | | | SRINAGAR, June 24: According to Chief Conservator of Forests Kashmir, the persons interested in going for timber trade are required to get their depots registered with the Forest Department (concerned Divisional Forest Officers). He further informed that department has already made the registration of sale depots for trade of imported timber simple. He said that the persons interested in getting such registration are not required to purchase 2000 cfts of timber in advance as is mandatory for registration of sale depots for dealing with indigenous conifer timber. The Chief Conservator further said that all traders dealing with imported timber are not required to get their timber released or covered it with transit pass (Form 25) within the Valley. Only checking of the timber on its entry to valley will be at Lower Munda Check Post. However, this concession is not applicable for the sale depot holders dealing with both imported as well as indigenous timber. Such traders are advised to get their imported depots registered separately to avail the concession. |
