JMC charges Rs. 70,000 fine from polythene users | | | arly Times Report
Jammu, Sept 28: The Jammu Municipal Corporation today inspected various shops and charged Rs. 70,000 as compounding fee from defaulters. According to press release, the JMC undertook a drive against the use of polythene carry bags in the areas Meshapura Chowk, Resham Ghar Colony, Bakshi Nagar, New Plot, Rehari Chugi. The team also made the public aware of the ban on the use of polythene carry bags and the adverse effects of polythene carry bags which are made of Non - Bio-degradable material and requested them to use the bags made of bio-degradable material to carry their commodities. Besides this, on 3rd consecutive day of the weeklong programme to mark the "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan", the rally comprising of Students from Government Girls Higher Secondary School Rehari Colony, Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Sarwal, Government Higher Secondary School Paloura, Raina Higher Secondary School Paloura, Naveen Vidya Mandir School and Volunteers of Sulabh International was flagged off by Shamsher Singh Manhas Hon'ble Member Parliament. |
