Early Times Report

Rajouri, Nov 19: Complaints of favouritism have allegedly been made by certain quarters in the appointment of newly selected government teachers at the places of their choices by the office of former Chief Education Officer (CEO), Rajouri. Some candidates alleged that the former Chief Education Officer HA Fani reportedly had adjusted some blue eyed teachers(including males) in the schools at the places nearer to their residences while some teachers including women were adjusted in far flung and far-off places. This act of the former CEO was also condemned by the Teacher's Joint Front (TJF) and had expressed concern over the alleged pick & choose based adjustments of the newly appointed ( 2015 list of 770 teachers) teachers purely on politically motivated base. Some teachers had reportedly approached the Chief Minister Grievance Cell (CMGC) and ,according to reliable sources, SSP has been directed to investigate the matter / complaint lodged with CMGC. Sources added the investigation was handed over to Deputy SP (Ops) and he had gone through the CEO's office records related to the appointments of newly selected teachers for the district. After detailed verification of the records the officer has requested the Chief Education Officer to assure the presence of 10 teachers in his office for questioning and for further investigation. Those teachers who were called by the Deputy SP operations for questioning have been identified as Tarun Gupta , Rameshwar Dutt, Tariq Hussain, Vinay Sharma, Rajiv Kumar, Sabah Rashid, Sikander Khan, Rakesh Kumar, Murtaza Ali, and Gourav Kumar. After the adjustment of newly selected teachers , The Teacher's Joint Front (TJF) had alleged those with 10+2 qualifications were adjusted in higher secondary schools while candidates with M.Phil / Msc qualifications were sent to primary schools. "Those who had managed political support were adjusted in the schools between 0 to 1 kilometers while who couldn't manage DO letters or approach the CEO, including women were adjusted at the places where they have to cover a distance between 3-80 kilometers daily to and fro" had said a TJF office holder. When contacted Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ch Altaf Hussain has confirmed that the 10 teachers are called upon by the Deputy SP for inquiry into the complaint against the then CEO on November 21.
