Early Times Report
kishtwar, Nov 19: Entry of a PDP activist and a driver posted with Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Kishtwar, into examination hall along with their mobile phones has drawn severe criticism from civil society as well as from the parents of the students appearing in Class 10 examination.
Reports said the ACR's elder child is appearing in the examination at HSS Boys Kishtwar, and it was not known why his driver was allowed into the exam hall.
"Even the ACR too visited the exam hall," a group of parents told Early Times. They said it was the moral responsibility of supervising staff not to allow anyone into the examination hall.
SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir said the matter came to his notice only today and that after discussing it with Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, action will be initiated.
Wazir said that as per instructions from the Government, police had made an elaborated arrangement of security outside examination centers. He said all police officers assigned for the purpose have been directed not to enter inside examination halls unless the superintendent seeks their help. He said that police have no role inside examination hall.
When contacted, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan said that examination in all far flung areas of Kishtwar including Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas is going on smoothly and up to the satisfaction of the administration.
He said all District Magistrates along with teams of Board officials, DIET Kishtwar and Education Department are camping at examination centers with adequate security to thwart any attempt of mass copying during Class 10 and 12 examinations.
Notably, mass copying was reported during Class 10 (private) examination at Higher Secondary School Marwah in October this year. Photographs of police personnel facilitating mass copy had gone viral on social networking sites.
Meanwhile, the principles of various schools told Early Times that officials assigned by the administration and JKBOSE to conduct surprise checking of examination centers are entering inside the examination halls without intimating them.
