JAMMU, Nov 19: Semifinals position has been cleared in the ongoing Shaheed Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Hockey Tournament, organised by the Kashmir Sikh Sangat at K K Hakhu Stadium, here today. Teams qualifying for the last four stages of the competition are Khalsa Club Gole Gujral, Young Star Simbal Camp, MBS Simbal Camp and Deshmesh Club Nanak Nagar. Now, in the semifinals, scheduled for tomorrow, Khalsa Club shall take on Deshmesh Club at 1.30 pm while MBS Simbal Camp shall meet Young Star at 3 pm. The final shall be played on November 21 at the same venue at 2.30 pm. Earlier, in the last league match of the competition, Guru Nanak Nagar Club defeated Hiranagar Club 3-1. Gurpreet Singh (18th, 51st) and Sukhmeet Singh (23rd) were the scorers while Abhinandan reduced the margin sounding the board in the 32nd minute. In today's league match, Prof Atamjit Singh and Director Finance, O P Singh were special guests. This match was officiated by the technical penal comprising Mohd Amin, Charanjit Singh, Manjeet Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Jagjit Singh, Joginder Singh and Jaspreet Singh. |
