Talking to media president of the NGO Fareed Ahmed Naik said that the funds meant for MGNREGA and other flagship programmes under the RDD have been embezzeled during past many years. He said that the works executed by the department are not as per the norms and most of the works do not even exist on ground.
Naik alleged that there is a nexus being run by the employees of the Rural Development department and some opportunist members of the panchayats who engulf the major share of the funds meant for the development of
the rural areas of the state of Jammu and Kashmir in general and district in particular.
He demanded audit and verification of the assets of the employees associated with these schemes in the department.
