JAMMU, May 19: The Excise Sleuths of Kathua Excise Range along with the Excise Eradication Wing Jammu conducted series of raids in district Kathua under the command of ETO, Kathua Excise Range, Sandeep Gupta, and ETO Eradication, Jammu Suresh Sharma to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liqour.
The team conducted series of raids in villages Kokhyal, Muthikhurd, Barnotiand adjoining areas. In the process 600 Kg Lahan, 52bottles and 15 pouches of illicit liquor prepared from Lahan, which is highly injurious to health, was recovered by the raiding team and later destroyed on spot.
Another team under the command of ETO Udhampur-Reasi Excise Range NareshKoul raided the Kalla, Shanadi, Thiyoth, Bagga and other areas of Reasi.
In the process 130 Kg Lahan and 5bottles of illicit liquor prepared from Lahan, which is highly injurious to health was recovered by the raiding team and later destroyed on spot.
Meanwhile Excise team Sambaunder the command of ETOSamba Excise Range Tina Mahajan raided the Ramgarh, Randwa, Nandpur and other areas of Vijaypur.
In the process 110 Kg Lahanwas recovered by the raiding team and later destroyed on spot.
The Department has initiated multi-pronged strategy to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liqour. Inspection teams have been activated and there shall be no laxity for those who violate the law. |
