poonch, May 19: Police claimed to have foiled a bovine smuggling bid in Dewal of Reasi district with arrest of one bovine smuggler besides rescuing 27 bovine animals here on Thursday. "The accused Bagh Hussain S/O Bagga caste Gujjar age 40 years R/O Shikari Tehsil Mahore District Reasi," police said.Police said, "On specific information about some persons may try to smuggle bovine animals from Chana Shikari towards Kashmir via Nikkin Gali by foot, the police team from Police Post Dewal led by ASI Abdul Rashid, I/C PP Dewal under the supervision of Inspector Salim Altaf Raina, SHO P/S Mahore, Ayaz Ahmed, KPS SDPO Mahore, Sanjay Singh Rana, KPS Addl SP Reasi and overall supervision of Sujit Kumar, IPS SSP Reasi laid a special naka at Gharwas (Top of village Shibrass) Tehsil Mahore. They intercepted the above said accused who was goading 27 animals towards Kashmir without any legal permission and thus was arrested and rescued 27 bovine animals from his possession. The accused was arrested on the spot and a case under FIR No. 28/2016 u/s 188 RPC stands registered against accused at P/S Mahore and investigation are on. |
