Delhi does plain-speaking, says Pak epicentre of global terrorism
Response to anti-India resolution

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 21: The Indian Foreign Office (IFO) has done some plain-speaking and reiterated that J&K was, is and shall ever remain an integral part of India and told Pakistan not to interfere in the internal affairs of India. "Pakistan is an epicentre of global terrorism and India does not need any lecture from it on its internal matters," the IFO said while reacting angrily to reported nasty comments by Islamabad about the Handwara incident in Kashmir. Islamabad has no locus standi to comment on such internal issues, said spokesperson of External Affairs Ministry Vikas Swarup.
"We do not need lectures from third parties, least of all from Pakistan, which would do well to reflect upon the state it finds itself in, as an epicentre of global terrorism and a country where religious minorities are routinely persecuted," said Swarup, adding that India's robust and vibrant democracy has enough redressal mechanisms to handle such cases.
Not just this, he also said: "The entire state of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. Pakistan has no locus standi in commenting on matters that are entirely internal to the state of Jammu and Kashmir and India".
It bears recalling that protests had erupted in Handwara town and adjoining areas of Kupwara district of Kashmir province last month after allegations that a 16-year-old girl had been molested by an army man. Four youth and a woman were killed when seditious crowds attacked the bunker and tried to burn it down. The Army opened fire in self-defence. Had it not opened fire, the seditious crowds would have lynched our soldiers. The girl and the Army had vehemently denied the allegation. The girl told the judge and the media that she was not molested by any army soldier and that she was molested by some local youth. Instead of taking cognizance of her revelations, the J&K police detained her. She remained under detention for weeks and was released only after the court intervened. She held her ground firmly despite the fact that her mother repeatedly insisted that a soldier had tried to molest her.
However, three days ago, the under pressure girl did a complete U-turn and accused a soldier of holding her hand. There is no doubt that she changed her stance only to save her life. The entire community of separatists and Kashmiri political class and civil society did all that they could to pressurize the girl to change her statement. Convinced that she will be eliminated by the anti-nationals, she finally took a complete U-turn.
Pakistan exploited this U-turn to the hilt and even adopted a resolution indicting India and the Indian Army and charged New Delhi with violating human rights of Kashmiri Muslims. It was this that infuriated the Indian Foreign Ministry and as a result it tore into Pakistan.
However, what the IFO said is just not enough. What is needed is a definite action against Islamabad, which is exporting terrorism into India and fomenting troubles not only in Kashmir but also in other parts of the country. The Indian nation is fed up with the evil machinations of Pakistan and it wants New Delhi to act and act tough so that Pakistan is shown its rightful place.
