udhampur, May 25: Udhampur Police claimed to have arrested two narcotics smugglers from Birma Bridge, Udhampur along with 08 Kg of Charas from their possession. The consignment was being transported from Kashmir to Jammu. "The accused have been identified as Jabad Ahmed s/o Abdul Rashid of Annatnag Kashmir and Mohd Aslam s/o Hussain Mohd of Lansi Udhampur District, police said. According to the Police, during the frequent checking of vehicles at National Highway near Birma bridge, a Police Party of Police Station Udhampur headed by Inspector O P Chib, SHO Police Station, Udhampur intercepted one car bearing registration number JK02BH-9900 and on suspicion the vehicle was subjected to thorough search. "During search of the vehicle, police recovered 8 Kgs Charas from the possession of two occupants of the vehicle who were arrested on the spot, police said, adding the vehicle and the consignment of contraband was also seized. In this connection, a case registered under section 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station, Udhampur. |
