| War hysteria takes over poll euphoria | | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 26: After two months of extended election festivity Jammu and Kashmir has fallen into war hysteria even as the Center has said that there is nothing to panic about.
After frenzied movement of Pakistan Army along International Border in Rajasthan, reports are suggested Pakistan built up along Kathua and Akhnoor frontiers. Though the Army and BSF are tight lipped about situation but the Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Kuldeep Khoda was today first to assert the “state of preparedness”.
“Army and police are fully prepared to meet any eventuality incase war breaks out between India and Pakistan”, Khoda told a news conference in Srinagar today.

Jammu, Dec 25: Immediately a day after the elections are over, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have come with stunning revelation –a separatist leader is involved in killing of Peoples League chairman Sheikh Abdul Aziz.
Shaikh was killed during the ‘Muzaffarabad Chalo march’ taken out by the separatists in August. The Police and CRPF were though charged by people for his killing when they opened fire to quell demonstration but the Police had once claimed that militants too had fired some shots. The matter was, however, rounded off in view of sensitivity of the situation then prevailing in Kashmir.

Jammu, Dec: 25: To provide respite to the power consumers, Governor, N N Vohra, today approved a revolving fund of Rs 1 crore in favour of the Power Development Department for procuring and replacing the damaged meters in the Jammu Division.
According to a decision, taken by the Governor during his interaction with the Jammu Chamber of Industries and Commerce, here this morning, the consumers will be charged the cost of the replaced meters in three installments and not in one go. As per the standing instructions, the consumers had to get their damaged meters installed at their own expense.

SRINAGAR : As many as 56 passengers crossed sides on the Line of Control (LoC) onboard the Karvan-e-Aman bus despite strained relations between India and Pakistan over the Mumbai terror attacks.
Official sources said 15 residents of this side of the border crossed over to Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), to meet their relatives separated since 1947 partition.
Similarly, 15 residents of PoK who met their relatives here and witnessed the just concluded seven-phase assembly election, also left for their homes across the LoC today.

Lahore, Dec 25: In a move which could heighten tension between New Delhi and Islamabad, Pakistan has purportedly moved its tenth brigade to Lahore and ordered its third Armed Brigade to march towards Jhelum.
Islamabad has also reportedly put its 10th and 11th divisions on high alert. Unconfirmed reports have said militants have also been stationed alongwith the Army at the said locations.
Pakistan’s troop build up along the Indian border has also given credence to the current war hysteria between the two nuclear powered states.
The move comes a day after Pakistan deployed its Army in place of the regular Pak Rangers along its border with India.
