The Supreme Court verdict of upholding the 27 per cent reservation quote for Other Backward Classes may have got across the board appreciation from all political parties but in Jammu and Kashmir it can bring along a problem for the government.
Giving a big push to reservation policy, the Supreme Court had on Thursday upheld the controversial law providing 27 per cent quota for OBCs in IITs, IIMs and other central educational institutions but excluded the "creamy layer" from its ambit.

The Drug and Food Control Organization has cancelled 123 drugs licenses and sealed 119 unlicensed drug shops during 2007-08 which is the highest number even recorded by the department in a year. It lifted a record number of 1215 samples of medicines/drugs during 2007-08 of which 1029 were analyzed in the state laboratories at Srinagar and Jammu. Only 48 of these were found to be sub-standard. During the last year only 664 samples were lifted and only, 40 of them were found to be of sub-standard quality.

Even though there yet any word to be heard from Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen and MY Tarigami, the Peoples Democratic Party rebel Ghulam Hassan Mir has claimed that the third front is in the making.
Speaking to a local cable television channel, Mir claimed that many leaders were in close touch with him and the third front could take shape towards the end of this months or early next month.
