JAMMU, Apr 16: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who is also President J&K Sports Council Tuesday presented Sher-i-Kashmir Sports Awards to 34 outstanding sports persons for their outstanding performance and winning of medals at the National and the International levels from 2003-04 to 2009-10. srinagar, Apr 16: Minister of State for Health, Mr Shabir Ahmad Khan today said that better Health services have helped to bring down the Infant mortality rate in the state, while steps are also afoot to create adequate infrastructure to make available Neonatal care facilities at all district hospitals to check the newborn deaths.
“Infant mortality rate has come down from 35 in 2006 to 32 in 2011 but there is a need to make available adequate neonatal care facilities to avoid the newborn deaths”, Shabir said at a day-long workshop on ‘Home Based New born Care (HBNC) ASHA Module’ organized by J&K National Rural Health Mission here today.

JAMMU, Apr 16: Minister of State for Health, Mr. Shabir Ahmad Khan has said that the district Hospital Ganderbal would soon have a Blood Bank Unit, while a ramp would be constructed in Indoor Patients Department for the convenience of the patients.
The Minister during his surprise visit to the Hospital last evening directed Director Health Services to initiate necessary steps to create these facilities. He said a Sick Neonatal care unit and Generic Drug Store would be also opened in the Hospital.

According to notification issued from Transport Department the movement of vehicular traffic was allowed from April 15, 2013.
