SDM inspects functioning of govt offices

KATHUA: SDM Billawar Vikas Gupta along with Deputy Chief Education Officer Billawar paid a surprise visit to various government offices of Tehsil Billawar. The SDM inspected the functioning of these schools and checked the enrolment, attendance, mid day meal and other programmes. He visited Middle School Draman, High School Barota Middle School Thanthu, Middle School Thara Kalwal, High School Uchapind and took stock of availability of ration in these schools under mid-day meal. He directed the concerned to ensure a healthy and hygienic nutrition to the students. The SDM took strong notice of absentees and asked the school heads to make sure that all the staff strictly follows punctuality and regularity towards their duty. At Sheep Extension Counter Harnota, the SDM found the extension counter closed during office hours and asked the Sheep Husbandry Officer, Billawar, to seek the explanation from the employees of the centre and submit the report to his office. Srinagar: The Government has ordered placement of eight In-charge Executive Engineers as In-charge Superintending Engineers Civil (Hydraulic) Wing in the PHE Department in their own pay and grade with charge allowance on stop gap arrangement against the available vacancies for a period of six months or till the posts are filled under rules on regular basis by the competent authorities. KULGAM: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Tuesday inaugurated newly constructed Mini-Secretariat-cum-DC Office here constructed at a cost of over Rs. 29.47 crores. Spread over an area of 96 kanals of land, the main building of the Mini-Secretariat consists of three storeys with plinth area of 30343 sft and built area of 89000 sft. It has three blocks with 193 rooms available for accommodating 29 government offices. The District Development Commissioner’s full establishment including ADDC, ADC and ACR will be housed in the Central Block comprising of 41 rooms while as other district offices will be situated in Eastern and Western Blocks.
