Jammu, July 24: After a long recess and pro-active engagements in bashing the security forces for all the ills of Jammu and Kashmir, the Peoples Democratic Party appears to have undergone change of heart as it has urged the militants to lay down arms and pay way for dialogue for resolution of the issues.
The Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti who is away in Colombo , Sri Lanka, to attend the Pugwash conference on Kashmir and other peace and conflict themes also strongly called for involvement of separatists in the dialogue process.

Jammu, July 24: Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad's fad with the work culture has enamoured the officers so much that the departments and offices are making their own rules to exhibit efficiency and perform more work in the same pay.
The employees and officers of the directorate of Rural Development are taken aback by a new schedule which is applicable to them only. Though the head of the directorate might have made efforts to enhance efficiency of his staff, but the staff is not quite happy even as many of the employees are violating the directive.

Jammu, July 24: As the holy Amarnath Yatra makes steady progress despite grenade attacks, terrorist threats and inclement weather, the number of pilgrims taking sojourn to the South Kashmir cave shrine today dipped to an all time low of this year's pilgrimage.
The decline in the number of pilgrims undertaking the Amarnath yatra continued for third consecutive day with only 793 devotees leaving here today for the cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas.
Today's was the smallest batch, including 124 women and 14 children, which left from the base camp of MAM Stadium here early morning in a fleet of 25 vehicles amidst tight security, officials said.

Jammu, Jul 24: Once more sending shrill reminder of the women insecurity in the state, the Police today booked a man for raping his daughter in Mahore area even though the Kashmir Police solved the mystery of rape and murder of a teenager girl in Handwara.
It may not be out of place to mention here that Jammu and Kashmir account for some 250 to 300 rape cases every year and most of these incidents are reported from the rural areas. The majority of the victims are usually the teenaged girls.
