| Qarra's son, Babu's driver on rampage | | Wahid Hamid Qarra attacks SHO Nageen with sharp weapon | | | Jammu, Aug 17: In two isolated incidents bringing embarrassment for their masters, the son of a senior minister and driver of a Minister of State went on rampage under the influence of brute power.
Son of Finance Minister Tariq Hameed Qarra was arrested for allegedly assaulting a Station House Officer (SHO) of Jammu and Kashmir police with sharp edged weapon in Hazratbal area, on the outskirts of Srinagar city, this afternoon. Police sources, quoting eyewitnesses, said that the Wahid Hameed Qarra, son of the minister, turned furious on SHO Hazratbal, after the later objected his car parking in no-parking zone.
Sources late this evening told the EARLY TIMES, that the Finance Minister Tariq Qarra later called up the Director General of Police, that his son should be treated as an ordinary offender under the rules of law. "The Minister told the DGP that his son should not be spared for being his son", a senior police officer told EARLY TIMES.

Jammu, Aug 17: Reserve Bank of India has clarified that although the printing of Re 1, Rs. 2 and Rs. 5 notes has been discontinued , the notes of these denomination issued earlier will continue to be legal tender.
Reserve Bank has made it clear that these notes are not being withdrawn from circulation and the doubts among members of public regarding the validity/acceptability of these notes are totally unfound.
