JAMMU, Sept 24: Consumers have been left high and dry in the State as the announced cap on the issue of LPG refills has created a huge scarcity of cooking gas.
According to the announced cap on LPG refills each family would be issued six refills per year. The Congress ruled States have announced they would raise the cap to nine. The State Government is also likely to raise the cap to nine refills as announced by the State CAPD Minister.

JAMMU, Sept 24: Around seventy cancer patients who had come to the Government Medical College's (GMC) Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) for chemotherapy had to return disappointed as a vital machine had broken down due to official’s neglect.
According to reports, the authorities ignored a technical snag in Theratron Phoenix 102 Cobalt 60 Teletherapy unit lead to further break down of the vital machine today and subjected the patients to inconvenience. Following this break down the radio therapy unit had to be closed down and the patients who were assembled in the hospital were asked to go back home empty handed.

JAMMU, Sept 24: Though J&K's fiscal health is not so good and it depends mainly on the Centre for its several projects, the "princely" lifestyles of many of its serving police officers at the cost of State exchequer are making it poorer.
"Many senior police officers of the rank of district SPs and above continue to make misuse of official vehicles in violation of rules," a senior police officer said.
"It is the duty of police headquarters (PHQ) to take notice of such matters and ensure that no one gets more than his actual entitlement but it has miserably failed to perform this duty," he added.
