Sangharsh Result: orders issued on use of 800 kanals of land

EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 25: Addressing the main issue of agreement with Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti which had agreed to suspend the 63-day long agitation in Jammu on August 31, the government today issued formal orders on use of 800 kanals of land by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board. Exclusive use by the SASB of the said land at Baltal was the main issue in the agreement inked between the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti and the Governor’s four member panel headed by his Advisor Dr SS Bloeria. “In a communication addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, the State Government has informed the Shrine Board of the specific arrangements for use of the 800 kanals of land at Baltal-Domail, traditionally under use for annual Yatra purposes, in pursuance of the aforesaid agreement between the State Government and the SAYSS”, said an official spokesman of the government here this evening. EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Sept 25: Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has said that the J&K government has failed to submit utilisation certificates (UCs) for over Rs 1,616.47 crores. A latest CAG report for 2008 revealed that J&K government has yet to submit 9,809 UCs to Centre for the Rs 1,61.647.12 lakh for works done till 2005-06. Giving a graphic picture of the financial drawbacks, it said that 6,065 UCs for over Rs 660.92 crores is pending from Education department for 2004-2006. Similarly, Housing and Urban development department top the chart at number two as 1,512 UCs worth over Rs 509.23 crore are pending for the same period, followed by pendancy of 390 UCs for 7.9...
