Strictly adhere to norms, reserve 20% allocation for urban poor: Tara Chand

Srinagar, Dec 14: Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today reviewed the progress on developmental programs /projects in a meeting conducted with the officials of the various departments including SMC, NBCC, Drainage, Lawda, udac,UEED at SKICC.
During a course of meeting Shri Tara Chand emphasised on the various newly framed acts such as public disclosure act which has to be regulated and implemented by all the departments concerning Housing and urban development department . He said that all the necessary information has to be placed in the public domain and the departments has shall create an awareness program among people in this regard . While reviewing e - governance program Tara Chand directed all the concerned departments to issue Noc, s subjected to the online building permissions within the stipulated time through online so that the citizen can acquire the permission in a time bound manner besides stressing upon the speedy response to the registration and readressal of the grievances of the public. Deputy CM further instructed the officials to strictly adhere to the norms by reserving 20% of the over all allocation of funds /action plan for the basic urban poor.The departments shall ensure that these funds are to be utilised properly among the weaker section of society for which the shall maintain proper coordination and avoid overlapping between them. While taking a stock of Building Permissions and the khilafwarzi,s, Tara Chand directed SMC Commissioner Dr Qasba to keep a tight vigil and a proper monitoring over the Enforcement wing so that there is no violation of master plan and city does not grow in an haphazard manner. Tara Chand who was accompanied by Commissioner Secretary Housing and Urban Development department, Jeet lal Gupta directed all the representatives of the department present in the meeting to speed up with the pending work and timely completion of projects .The meeting among others was attended by DC Srinagar Baseer khan,Commissioner SMC Dr G.N Qasba, VC SDA Farooq Shah Renzu.VC LAWDA Irfan Shah and Chief Engineer UEED Meanwhile Commissioner secretary to Housing and Urban development department, Jeet lal Gupta along with the Commissioner SMC Dr Qasba conducted a field visit on the directions of Deputy CM . Gupta visited landfilling dumping site of SMC at Achan where he was briefed about the various modern and new technologies to be adopted for decomposition of garbage and other waste-material in a scientific manner .During his visit to lepers colony Bharar and Tibetians colony Eidgah, Commissioner secretary was apprised about the work progress related to the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes under BSUP(basic service to urban poor).On spot instructions were issued issued to the concerned officials to complete the projects immediately for early rehabilitation of the lepers of Bharar and the Tibetians of Eidgah.
