| Conflicting versions by visiting delegation from PoK | | | early times report JAMMU, Dec 14: The conflicting versions have been given by the visiting members of civil society from Pak Occupied Kashmir (PoK) who included Legislators, retired judges of POK High Court and Supreme Court and representatives of Chamber of Commerce and Trade during their interaction to media men in resolving the Kashmir dispute. The members of civil society from POK which is the part of Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation (CDR) while some of the members advocate for settling the issue through plebiscite by giving the right to vote to the people of all three regions of J&K as well as POK, Gilgit Baltistan and the portion of J&K under the occupation of China so that they will decide the future of the state. This section among the delegation is of the opinion that both India and Pakistan as well as China have occupied the land of J&K forcible and the people of the state be given their right to determine their destiny independently and allowed to exist as an independent country without the control of India -Pakistan and China. This group also does not give any credibility to former Chief Minister of J&K Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah whom Indian Government considers undisputed leader of the state saying that Sehikh had no polarity either in Jammu region or PoK as well as Ladakh region. It was Moulvi Abas the founder of Muslim Conference who was a popular leader in the Jammu region as well as in POK and not Sheikh Abdullah feels a section of Pak delegation, who outright rejected the role of Sheikh. However other members were of the view that the improvement in bilateral relations between India and Pakistan could lead to better understanding among the people of two Kashmir's and they can come to closer to each other. This section of PoK' s civil society feels that dialogue process on the level of civil society should continue to resolve the conflict and improve the economic condition of the people of the undivided J&K. But they firmly believe that the same was not possible until and unless the bilateral relations between India and Pakistan do not improve. Admitting that the partition of India and Pakistan was a reality and the clock can't be turned back some members of the delegation feel that Kashmir has been a jugular vein for Pakistan and Pak army's dominance in politics was mainly because the Army exploited the nation on Kashmir issue and succeeded in overthrowing the democratically governments from time to time on the basis of same. The army sought more powers as it said that it can't fight with India over Kashmir unless it is not given unlimited powers which were later misused by it also. |
