| NC MLA, leader under scanner for illegal construction | | | Sumit Sharma JAMMU, Dec 14: Two leaders of ruling National Conference including a MLA came under scanner after their names surfaced in violation of building norms and illegal construction in Sidhra and Kalakote. While the complaint against one was lodged by residents of Sidhra with State Vigilance Organization, the role of other was being looked into by Rajouri district administration. The illegal construction by NC leader in Tawi Vihar Colony, Sidhra came to limelight after residents of the area of lane number 29 and 31 filed RTI in Revenue department seeking owner of the plot no 52 A, in lane number 31.In reply, the Revenue department made clear that the plot was stand on the name of wife of a NC leader. In their complaint to SVO, residents alleged, "We the residents of lane number 29 and 31, Tawi Vihar Colony, Sidhra want to apprise you that a commercial construction is on in our residential locality, which is against norms laid by JMC.' " Though, in JMC permission number 227/bs/10 dated 5/2012,the name of one Farooq of Srinagar was shown but the said plot is in the name of one Neelam Kumari wife of NC leader as informed to us through RTI," locals said. SSP Vigilance Shakti Pathak when contacted confirmed of having such complaint and said that probe in this matter is in progress. Meanwhile, a similar complaint of land grabbing and illegal construction was lodged by residents of Kalakote with the civil administration against NC MLA and his brother. The politician was raising building on site falling under the jurisdiction of mines area. Following the protests of locals a team headed by Tehsildar and AO was dispatched to take stock of situation on the grounds which seized the construction material and stopped the construction work.
