| Cop with 2 EPIC, 2 ration cards | | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, Dec 14: Holding two EPIC cards and ration cards may be an offence for lesser mortals but for a police officer of the rank of DySP it is a privilege at least in this neglected land. As per details available with Early Times, one Manzar Ahmed Khan (54 yrs) son of Faqeer Ullah Khan a DySP in Jammu and Kashmir Police posted in IRP 9th battalion holds two EPIC cards No: DFP0353532, Serial No:535, House No: 130 resident of Pamrote (Surankot Poonch) and No: LNK0020958, but in this case his name was registered as Manzar Ahmed Manhas (55 yrs) son of Faqeer Ullah Khan Serial No: 365, House No: 86 resident of Bathindi Jammu (Jalalabad Sunjwah) and both the EPIC cards are registered in Parliamentary Constituency 6 (Jammu) J&K. In first EPIC card the family members registered with Election commission of India are 47 year old Shehnaz Begum ( wife) with EPIC card No: DFP0353540, 27 year old son Manzar Ahmed Khan with EPIC No: DFP0353565, 29 year old son Fayyaz Manzar with EPIC No: DFP0353573, 25 year old daughter Zeba Manzar with EPIC No: DFP0353581 and 27 year old daughter Farh Manzar with EPIC No: DFP0353599 registered at serial No’s: 536,538,539,540 and 541 respectively and these EPIC cards were entered and authenticated by BLO Safdar Hussain Shah for 85 Surankot Assembly Segment polling station 70 Pamprote (A) which is the part of Parliamentary Constituency 6 of J&K. In another EPIC card, said police officer registered himself with Election Commission of India as Manzar Ahmed Manhas and registered his family as Shenaz Begum as wife, beside five children namely Nazia Manzar, Shakib Manzar Fayas, Fiyaz Manzar, Farah Manzar and Naubia Manzar with EPIC Nos LNK0020966 for wife and LNK0020974, LNK0020982, LNK0020990, LNK0021006 and 00210014 at serial No: 366 for wife and 367, 368, 369, 370 and 371 for registered five children with slight difference in age of all in comparison to other EPIC card. All these EPIC cards of the family member of the said police officer were entered into the Election Commission of India record by BLO Ghulam Rasool for 71 Gandhi Nagar (Jammu) Assembly segment polling stations Bathindi (C). The sources informed that the police officer use both the EPIC as well ration cards to avail the benefit of various Government schemes including LPG connections, beside benefits in promotion, admission and jobs for his children. According to officials posted with Election Commission of India, holding two election identity cards is a punishable offence under law and even a FIR can be registered against the guilty, in this case the person who holds the two EPIC identity cards as well as two ration cards is one who himself has the responsibility to protect the law of the land, but instead of protecting the law, the said police officer violates the same for his personal benefits and required to be dealt in accordance to the law of the land. |
