| NC postpones rally in Jammu | | "Rally rescheduled due to busy schedule of CM" | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 14 : The much hyped rally to be organised by the National Conference (NC) to register its strength here in Jammu region has been postponed for unspecified period of time. Interestingly, it is Chief Minister Omar Abdullah himself who had first made the announcement on November 10 during a day long convention of party workers in Sher-e-Kashmir bhawan that the NC would hold an 'unprecedented' rally to register its strength in Jammu region. Lambasting the PDP and its politics of mere propaganda Chief Minister had even boasted that the NC rally would be biggest ever show of strength unseen in the recent history of the state. In a veiled reference to PDP Omar had also announced, "Woh Aise Taassur Denay Ki Koshish Kar Rahey Hain Kay Unka Taara Chad Raha Hai Aur Hamara Taara Utar Raha Hai…. Woh Doosra Masla Hai Kay Kashmir Mein Unkay Pairon Kay Neechay Say Zameen Khisak Rahi Hai,,,"Iss Waaste 16 December Ko Hum Ek Aisi Maharally Karengay Jo Ab Tak Kisi Nay Dekhi Nahin Hogi…." He added the rally would invigorate the party cadre in the region also besides achieving the main objective of creating awareness among the people about achievements of the party on the ground in all these years of peace and development. When Provincial President Rattan Lal Gupta was asked about the preparations being made for the rally he clarified that the rally has been rescheduled for the time being due to the busy schedule of Chief Minister. He claimed the party machinery has geared up its resources to hold the rally as planned earlier but had to postpone the same due to preoccupation of the Chief Minister. Gupta also clarified that soon after the schedule of the rally would be confirmed the party leadership would announce the schedule. |
