| Bhat concerned over frequent road accidents | | | early times report Jammu, Dec 19: District Doda Vice President of National Conference and former MLC Mohammad Iqbal Bhat today said that frequent road accidents in erstwhile Doda district have created unpleasant and painful atmosphere. After conducting a four day long tour of the hilly district, he expressed grief and sorrow over the tragic accidents which occurred on Bhadarwah-Jai road killing eight persons and another accident which occurred in Mahore area of Reasi district in which 10 persons lost their lives. Expressing his sympathies with the bereaved families Bhat prayed for the departed souls. He demanded immediate and timely cash relief for effected families. He thanked the state government for extending financial help to affected families. He also demanded plying of a number of more mini JK State Road Transport Corporation coaches in Chenab Valley region to curb the rising number of accidents. Bhat also demanded that fitness of drivers/vehicles and licenses should be checked properly on regular basis.
