| | | Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today termed elimination of six militants in Sopore encounter as a success for security forces. Omar expected infiltration from across the border to stop which according to him would end the need for such encounters. Talking to media at the sidelines of passing out parade of 897 police recruits at STC Sheeri in Baramulla district, the Chief Minister said: "We will rather like to see the attempts to infiltrate to come to an end which would end the need for these encounters." He praised security forces for handling the operation carefully without taking any casualties. : "An encounter in which terrorist are eliminated with security forces taking no casualties is a successful operation. The sheer size of the group of terrorist -- five killed and two more holed up as per information given to me -- has to be a success for the security forces," he said. |
