Kathua, Feb 5: For capacity building of PRI representatives and functionaries, on the second day of four days basic foundation course they trained about the Roles and responsibilities of Halqa Panchayat.
On the occasion Block Development Officer, Dr. Anirudh Rai was also present. Addressing the trainees Dr Rai said that programme focused on strengthening the Panchayati Raj Institutions every year. "Efforts are taken for ensuring community participation in the Gram Sabhas, Panchayat council and working committee meetings" he said.
He further said, "Panchayats are being facilitated to prepare a micro-planning document every year and ensure its subsequent implementation." Resource person VLW Ajay Singh, Ashok Kumar while expressing his views explained the community participation, Participatory planning process, Participatory rural appraisal, Property of Panchayats. He said that community participation is very important for all round development of Panchayt. On the second day of training representatives of Basantpur, Dhanna, Dhanore, Karroh, Kerian, Gandiyal panchayat along with Programme Coordinator Nardev Singh, VLW Kehar Singh, Rajesh Kumar were also present. |
