JAMMU, Feb 19: Host University of Jammu (JU) today announced its 16-member team for the All India Inter-University Korfball Tournament scheduled to take off on the University campus, here tomorrow. The final selection of the team was made this afternoon by the members of the selection committee comprised of BK Magotra, HS Chib and Manjeet Singh.
However, last year's third position holders, JU along with three other top ranking teams have been given bye in the preliminary rounds and shall directly play at the quarterfinals stages on February 22. The competition shall be declared open by Minister for Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din at 10.30 am tomorrow, followed by the first round matches at the same venue. Vice Chancellor of JU, Prof MPS Ishar shall preside over the inaugural function.
