| 3 bovine smuggling bids foiled, 3 held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 19: Police today foiled three separate bovine smuggling bids when it arrested three persons and seized as many as 27 bovines from different parts of Kathua district. According to sources, a team of Police Station (P/S) Lakhanpur during routine naka duty at Maggar Khad near Shiv Mandir (National Highway) intercepted one truck bearing registration No JK02R-4386 which was on way towards Punjab from J&K During search, the Police recovered 9 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the truck driver identified as Mohd Kalu son of Fateh Mohd of Govindpur Tehsil and District Ramban. A case FIR No. 23/2013 under section 188 RPC 3 CA Act stands registered at P/S Lakhanpur against the arrested accused person. In another incident, a Police party of Police Post Hatli during patrolling at Hatli Morh, Kathua intercepted one truck bearing registration No JK02AE-4464 which was on way towards J&K from Punjab. On seeing the Police naka the truck driver managed to escape from the spot leaving behind vehicle loaded with 12 bovine animals. Police have launched a man hunt to nab the absconding driver. A Case FIR N0 63/2013 under section 188 RPC, 3/5 CA Act stands registered at P/S Kathua. Meanwhile, a police party of P/S Hiranagar during Naka duty at Tarnah Nallah Hiranagar seized 6 bovine animals from the possession of two persons identified as Gani son of Hasam of Gurha Sarkari Tehsil Hiranagar and Shamu son of Kassam Din of Kunthal Tehsil Hiranagar who were taking them to Punjab on foot. A case FIR No.21/2013 U/S 188 RPC stands registered at P/S Hiranagar against the arrested accused. |
