Jammu, Feb 19: Jammu Province Bank Employees Federation (JPBEF) today held an hour long demonstration at Shalamar Chowk, Jammu in support of their demands including the 10 point Charter of Demands of Central Trade Unions. Addressing demonstrations, General Secretary of the Federation Com. Arun Kumar Gupta demanded, "Control alarming price rise, Stop anti-worker Labor Reforms-Hands off trade union rights, Stop Banking Reforms, Stop outsourcing , Early Wage revision and Settle pending issues like compassionate appointment scheme." Com. Ashwani Pradhan, Com. Manjit Singh, Com. T.K.Tikoo, Com. Ganesh Kumar, Com. R.K.Bamba, Com. Anil Gupta, Com. Avinash Dogra, Com. Kamal Kumar, Com. Vijay Zutshi, Com. R.K.Bhat, Com. Rama Kant and Com. Nariani addressed the protesters. Meanwhile, JKMSRA affiliated to FMRAI & CITU today held meeting at the office of Centre of Indian Trade Union Gandhi Nagar, Jammu in view of two days countrywide general strike which is scheduled on February 20-21on the call of all central trade unions. The meeting was presided over by com. Surinder Singh. Speaking on the occasion he demanded, "Implementation of SPE (Sales Promotion Employees, condition of service) Act 1976, strict fixation of working hours, contain price rise and implementation of public distribution system, implementation of all basic labour laws and stringent punitive measures against violation of labour laws, formulation of social security legislation for unorganized workers, stop disinvestment in central and state PSUs, stop contractrisation of regular jobs and pay wages to contract workers at par with regular workers, minimum wages upto Rs10000, scrap ceiling on bonus, gratuity and Provident fund, assured pension for all and registration of trade union within 45 days and ratification of ILO convention no. 87 and 98
