| Amin Bhat's papers rejected during scrutiny | | | Jammu, Feb 19: Mohammad Amin Bhat, the sitting MLC of Congress who had chosen to file the nomination papers for second term on his own, without approval of the party leadership, faced the consequences today as his papers were rejected during the scrutiny process of nominations held in the Assembly Secretariat . Bhat's papers were however, rejected on a technical ground by the authorities as these lacked mandatory support of requisite number of legislators while filing the nominations. Papers of one more candidate were rejected today during the scrutiny which leaves only 10 in fray now. The scene shall get clear however on February 21 , the last date of withdrawing the names by candidates. Even as the step by Baht caused some embarrassment for the ruling Congress on Monday as he went on to file the nomination without the consent and approval of party leadership, it failed to create any trouble as his papers were rejected outright on genuine grounds. Bhat was unhappy over party decision to give mandate to Muzaffar Parray against the berth getting vacant on his seat. While papers of one independent candidate Sardar Kalu Khan were rejected today, it remains to be seen whether one more independent from Valley Shuban Krishan Dudha would decide to remain in fray or not. The contest, however, at this stage looks only on the Doda seat , where apart from ruling Congress candidate , Panthers Party has also fielded its candidate
