Early Times Report RAJOURI, Feb 19: A Rashtriya Rifles unit based at Kalakote under Tain sector organized a tour of teachers to KC Public School, Jammu today. A total of 35 teachers from government and private schools from remotest areas of Kalakote Tehsil, Rajouri visited the school. The tour was organised by Army in collaboration with KC Public School, Jammu with an aim to expose the teachers to the state of the art teaching methods, equipments and techniques. The tour was started with the welcome ceremony by the Principal of the school. After that, teachers were introduced to latest and modern infrastructure available at the School like a well-stocked library, computer labs, smart classes with state-of-the-art multimedia aids for teaching, activity rooms, auditorium, science and language labs, reception centre, students' hostel, indoor and outdoor sports facilities etc. A work shop was also conducted by K C Public School to give first hand experience on modern methods of instruction, learning, motivation and school management including use of play-way methods, props and other innovative techniques by Creative Head Sonia Thakur and Smita Swain. They interacted with hostel and mess staff and learnt about personal health, hygiene, sanitation and waste disposal methods. Dr Ram Thakur, Principal. KC Public school, praised the innovative effort of the Army and said "School management would like to participate in more such programmes for the professional growth of teachers from remote areas". |
