| Special DB issues various directions | | Suo-Moto PIL regarding shortage of LPG | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 19 (JNF) : In the much publicized Court on its own motion Public Interest Litigation regarding the crises because of shortage of LPG gas due to cap announced by Central Govt, A Special Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice MM Kumar and Justice JP Singh observed that, Oil Companies are expected to come out with a proposal as to how the population living in remote areas of hilly terrain could be served without any inconvenience. Division Bench after hearing Sr. DC Raina Court Counsel appearing for the State K. K. Pangotra, ASGI for Union of India whereas R.Koul, Advocate for oil companies and Sr. AAG Gagan Basotra for the state, observed that An affidavit on behalf of the Oil Companies in compliance to the direction dated 17.12.2012 as well as on behalf of the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu have been filed. However, a copy of the affidavit has not been exchanged between the counsel for the Oil Companies and the Advocate General. Both the counsel undertakes to exchange the copies. The copies have already been furnished to Sr. Adv DC Raina. Any response to the affidavit may be filed. Court directed Sr. Adv Dc Raina may also prepare a report, if so advised. On the next date of hearing, Oil Companies are expected to come out with a proposal as to how the population living in remote areas of hilly terrain could be served without any inconvenience and directed Registry to List this PIL on March 19, 2013. |
