| Jammu, Feb 19 : Northern Zone Insurance Employees' Association (NZIEA) has lambasted neo-liberal economic policies of union government, owing to which all workers have been compelled to observe two days country wide strike. In a press statement, Divisional Secretary, NZIEA Srinagar Division, Comrade Pawan Gupta lambasted on the neo-liberal economic policies of the central government, due to which all the workers pertaining to different central trade union unions including CITU, INTUC, AITUC and Federation like insurance and banking sector, have forced to come on streets on February 20-21. He said that the reform process of the government has resulted in increasing inflation, decline in employment and deterioration of health and Education sector, Privatization of profit making public sectors units. He said, "Government is bent upon disinvestment of public sectors which is a step toward privatization." He also criticized the Insurance and Banking Laws Amendment Bills and said that these bills are in the interest of the workers as well as the country. Gupta has appealed to all the insurance employees to make two days strike success. |
