| Troops to upgrade patrolling system in border villages to check militant ingress | | | early times report Jammu, Aug 3: Though India has accepted Islamabad's request for the resumption of bilateral dialogue New Delhi has, reports said, decided to raise the issue of continued infiltration bides being made by militants from across the LOC and the IB in Jammu and Kashmir. Sources said that New Delhi has already conveyed its displeasure to Islamabad over the rise in ingress bids and has stated that talks will prove fruitful only when Pak agencies including the Army stop assisting militants in crossing into Jammu and Kashmir. In this context New Delhi has conveyed to Islamabad that repeated attempts being made by militants in sneaking into Kashmir cannot be possible without help from Pak Army and other official agencies. Killing of more than 12 infiltrators during the last ten days was a clear proof of Pak support to militants' ingress. What worried New Delhi and the security agencies in Jammu and Kashmir is the failure of the new regime in Islamabad led by Nawaz Sharif in ending the menace of infiltrating. New Delhi believes that once infiltration of Pak trained militants ended the possibility of peace and normalcy being restored to Jammu and Kashmir would become brighter. Since there has been no fresh word from Islamabad on its commitment to stop infiltration of militants into Jammu and Kashmir troops guarding the LOC and the IB in Jammu and Kashmir have been told to step up their counter-ingress on the border. Army have been asked to deploy additional companies of forces on the border to plug all ingress routes. They have also suggested to install latest gadgets for monitoring the movement of militants. Field commanders have been told to supervise round the clock patrolling in those villages that kiss the LOC and the IB in Jammu and Kashmir so that no fresh infiltrator could carve out a hideout. Intelligence agencies have been directed to upgrade their field sources so that they got inputs about movement of infiltrators.
