| Playing with sentiments of Jammu people may prove fatal for him | | Postponing Iftaar party: CM does it again....... | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 3: The Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah has once again played with the sentiments of people of Jammu region when he postponed the proposed Iftaar party. He postponed it by saying giving the reason of inclement weather without knowing the fact that Jammu is witnessing monsoon from past more than one month. He first invited people by sending the invitation cards and then sent an email through director information that due to inclement weather the scheduled Iftaar party is being postponed. The email didn't mention wether the party will be held later or not. Last year also the chief minister did the same thing. He had invited people to attend the party but cancelled it citing the same weather reason. The proposed party was scheduled for Saturday evening at Guest house lawns and it is an open secret that today weather was clear and it was all sunshine everywhere in the city. There was no threat of rain or thunderstorm but the chief minister found a pretext in unfounded reason. The fact remains that he is hell bent upon playing with the sentiments of people of the Jammu and takes them for granted even in this sphere. Few days back the chief minister held the same party in the summer capital Srinagar and it was neither cancelled nor postponed because it was being held in his home town. By his actions, one can easily understand his inclination towards Srinagar and valley and he is not interested in giving away anything to the people of Jammu, whether they are Muslims or Hindus. This act by the chief minister is not only abusive but insulting for people of Jammu, who neither asked him to arrange the party nor asked to cancel it. He must understand the fact that people of the state don't work on his directions and playing with their sentiments will only prove fatal for him. |
