| Jugal, Khanna visit cloudburst areas of Kargil | | |

Kargil, Aug 3: A high level Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) delegation led by State President Jugal Kishore Sharma and State Prabhari (Incharge) and MP Avinash Rai Khanna visited the cloud-burst areas of Kargil for assessment of the damage caused.
He assured the affected people of every possible help from the party.
They were accompanied by State General Secretary Rajiv Jasrotia, Senior leader Sofi Yousuf, State Secretary Munish Sharma and Distt. President Kargil Haji Khaddam. Jugal Kishore Sharma while interacting with the affected people said that it was most unfortunate that leaders of ruling coalition parties have been misleading the people of Kargil by projecting themselves as their well-wishers but today at the time of calamity none of them has seemed here while BJP, though being opposition party lost no time in reaching out to the victims of yesterday cloud burst.
Sharma said that even though the ruling National conference and Congress party are well aware that cloudbursts and similar calamities are a regular feature in this cold desert region of Ladakh but government has never taken any interest in making advance preparation for such situation are formulating some permanent disaster management plan. He said that if voted to power in kargil Hill Council election BJP will give top priority to plans for disaster management and development of the Kargil district. Avinash Rai Khanna said that although we cannot stop the occurrences of such natural calamity but can play positive role in trying to minimize the loss of life and property as result of such calamities. He said that while the party at the state level has been making best efforts to project the problems of the people of Kargil, at national level we are committed to work with same zeal to make the people sitting in Delhi aware of the ground realities. |
