| PYC holds convention at Reasi | | MLC Jugal calls upon youth to take lead in politics | |

REASI, Aug 3: The youths are the agents of change and the educated youth must become part of active politics so as to serve the people and the country. This was stated by senior Congress leader and Member Legislative Council (MLC) Jugal Kishore Sharma while addressing a one-day convention organized by Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) at Reasi. He said that the Youth Congress activists were the backbone of party and they could take lead in essaying the vital role during the elections for the success of the candidates in the State. He said that youths of the party should go to every part of the constituency to make aware the public about the development works initiated by the party during its rule in the state and centre. He also asked the youth congress activists to highlight the programmes and the policies of Congress Party at grass-root level. Meanwhile, Sharma also assured, "the demand for the Tehsil status to Pouni and Arnas is genuine and with in short span of time the state government is going to implement the report of Bloeria commission constituted by the previous government headed by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to give Tehsil status to Pouni and Arnas. In the meeting various local issues like road connectivity to various areas being discussed and Sharma assured the local public that their demand will be considered. Also speaking on the occasion, District Youth Congress president Amit Sharma asked the youth Congress activists to gear up for the Assembly and parliament elections and to ensure the party victory in 2014 elections. Amit Sharma while speaking to media informed that the aim of the workshop is to develop organizational skills among the Youth Congress leaders and acquaint them about the central government's people friendly programmes and welfare schemes for the benefit of the masses so that they could propagate the party's policies and achievements. Others who were present during the occasion included All India Youth Congress incharge Harshvardhan, PYC President Shahnwaz Choudhary, Manjit Singh, Rajveer Singh, Pankaj Basotra, Paramjeet Singh, Ashok Bali and others. |
