Series of protests against Indian soldiers' killings rock Jammu

JAMMU, Aug 6: Expressing their strong resentment over the inhumane act of killing of five Indian soldiers by Pakistani troops inside Indian Territory in Poonch sector, the various political and social organizations today held series of protest demonstrations across Jammu region.
Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists held a massive demonstration here amid burning of Pakistani flag and effigy of UPA government.
The BJYM protest in Jammu was led by BJYM State President Ravinder Raina, who sought strict action against Pakistan should be taken as it has been repeatedly indulging in such activities which cannot be tolerated any more. He lambasted the Congress-led UPA government for being soft towards repeated killings from Pakistan, including recent beheading of Indian soldiers. He said that because of the cross firing and repeated infiltration by Pakistan, people living on the border areas are already passing through great difficulty and if something is not done urgently, there may be further unrest on the borders.
Similar protests were also held by the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) in Poonch and Rajouri. In Rajouri the protest was led by senior party leader Kuldeep Raj Gupta while in Poonch, the protest was led by Pardeep Kumar and Sunil Gupta.
Kuldeep Raj Gupta while addressing the BJP activists on protest at Rajouri said that enough is enough and time has come when the Government of India should not have any dialogue with Pakistan unless it mends its ways and gives firm assurance that such acts will not be repeated in future. He criticized the Congress-led UPA government for its soft approach towards China, which too has been creating problem for India.
At Poonch, Pardeep Kumar and Sunil Gupta while condemning the killing of Indian soldiers, held the UPA government responsible for such an act. They said that the soft approach of the UPA towards Pakistan has encouraged our neighbouring to kill our citizens. BJP senior leaders Kavinder Gupta, Bali Bhagat, Sat Sharma, Yudhvir Sethi, Chander Mohan Gupta, Ghulam Ali Khatana and others took part in protest held at Jammu. To protest the killing of Indian soldiers, the Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) along with hundreds of workers of the movement led a strong anti-Pakistan rally in Jammu. Led by JWAM president Sunil Dimple, the protesters burnt Pakistani flag and effigies of the Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang to send a strong message of anguish to Pakistan and China. The workers of the Dogra Front and Shiv Sena Jammu & Kashmir under the leadership of their president Ashok Gupta also staged a protest demonstration.
The Shiv Sainiks took out a procession from Rani Park to City Chowk against the killings of 5 Indian Army soldiers by Pakistan army The workers of DD and SS burnt the Pakistani flag to express their anger against Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Gupta stated that in an audacious and provocative attack, Pakistani troops entered Indian Territory along the Line of Control in the Poonch sector late last night and ambushed a patrol party killing five Indian soldiers. "Is the Congress with India or with Pakistan? They should come clear on it, Gupta said.
National Secular Forum (NSF) University unit organized a protest rally against Pakistan for the killing of five Indian soldiers in front of University Gate and disrupted the traffic for about one and half hours. The NSF members shouted slogans against Pakistan Govt. and the Congress-led UPA-Govt.
Addressing the protesters, Sukhdev Singh President of NSF, said Government should come out with a clear-cut and firm response to the today Pakistani attack which has become a weekly affair. J&K Human Rights Watch (JKHRW) has also condemned the dastardly act of Pakistani troops.
In a statement issued here today, Chairman JKHRW, B L Kapoor said that the violation of cease fire, Pakistani troops are continuously breaching the ceasefire on LoC and IB which is a matter of high concern and the government of India should give heed to this issue.
Referring the killing of army jawans time and again, Kapoor said that it has become routine practice of Pakistani troops which should not be tolerated at all and necessary immediate steps should be taken and befitted reply should be given so that the enemies may not encouraged.
Rashtriya Shahidi Yadgar Committee (RSYC) also condemned the killings of five India soldiers. President of RSYC Raj Kumar said that Indian government should give befitting reply to Pakistan so that in future it could not dare to repeat this heinous act.
