Another betrayal: Pak breaches LoC, kills five Indian soldiers in Poonch

early times report
Jammu, Aug 6: While Indian army and people yet have to reconcile from the barbaric Border Action Team (BAT) Operation of January 8, the Pak regulars in another brazen Pakistani army in violation of ceasefire agreement violation carried out Border Action Team Operation and ambushed Indian army patrol troops and killed five soldiers while injuring another in near Sarlah post in Poonch district.
According to reports, Border action team of Pak army comprising regulars of the 801 Mujahid Regiment and armed terrorist cadre of LeT and JeM terror outfits attacked the Indian patrol around 2.00 am and killed five of them on the spot and injuring one another solider.
Reports said that whole operation lasted for one hour. "The martyred soldiers belong to the 21 Bihar Regiment and Maratha Light Infantry, official sources said.
After carrying out the attack the BAT team went back unchallenged inside the Pak territory, however there are some media reports claimed that the group of heavily armed militants may have infiltrated inside the Indian side.
The members of BAT team reportedly were sitting at advantageous positions and taking shelter of rocks to avoid any loss to them and according to defence sources, about 20 heavily armed members of BAT team retrieved to PoK.
According to sources BAT team under the guidance by ISI and Hafiz Sayeed , Lashker e-Toiba (LeT) superemo , who had visited the forward areas in the months of June and July to exhort terrorists / Pakistan soldiers to increase action against Indian armyand under a planned strategy ambushed six men patrol party of Bihar regiment at about 0100 hrs today.
Skirmishes on the Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch districts followed by dastardly act of Jan 8, killing of a soldier, harassment of porter working with the army, damaging the infrastructure and inflicting serious injuries to soldiers/porters by planting IEDs and mines on the their patrol routes/paths to forward posts by the agents of ISI/militant outfits.
"There are ample proofs on the ground that their (Pakistan) local commanders, local battalions and Pakistan army opposite us -are very actively conniving with the militants and there is no doubt about this" GOC Infantry Division had stated.
Meanwhile people at Rajouri and Poonch and other places are shocked over the incident and have been demanding retaliatory action by the Indian army. Locals have burnt the effigy of Pakistan and organized a protest at Rajouri today. intelligence inputs also have hinted over 50 hard core Pakistan trained militants have been brought near the Line of Control between Sunderbani-Noushera-Ghambir (in Rajouri district)-Tarkundi-Balakot-Balnoi (in Poonch district) and during next few weeks major infiltration attempts/Bat action are reportedly expected in these sectors.
"As for as this Division (Infantry division manning LoC in Rajouri-Poonch), is concerned the terrorists have not been even able to either infiltrate beyond 'Anti Intrusion Obstacle Systems (AIOS) or to contact these. In frustration these militants now trying to cause causalities to our troops at posts close to LoC" had said GOC Infantry Division.
Pertinently this is the second major provocative act after the two Indian solider were beheaded in Mendhar sector of Poonch in January this year.
However, the statement issued by the Northern Command PRO mentioned that the Pak army regulars were part of the attack team which breached the line of control. Hours after the uproar in Parliament over the killing of 5 Indian soldiers along the border, India summoned Pakistani envoy and lodged a strong protest at the diplomatic level.
