| Officers team visits Cheryai Kagha to prepare report | | | EArly Times Report
Katra, Aug 6: On the directions of Union Secretary Tourism Parvez Dewan a high level team headed by Director Tourism Jammu Sojanya Sharma and accompanied by the Additional Chief Conservator of Forests Ravi Kumar Kesar, former conservator of Forests and member Public Service Commission R L Bharti, President Hotel and Restaurant Association Katra Shyam Lal Kesar, Chief Warden Civil Defence and senior Vice President Hotel and Restaurant Association Katra Rakesh Wazir,, Padamshree S P Verma, engineering team of the department headed by Deputy Director Maintenance and Works Javed Ahmad visited the ancient tourist spot 14 km east of Katra called Cheryai Kagha to prepare a detail report for the further necessary action on the part of union tourism ministry. It is worthwhile to mention here that Parvez Dewan in his endevour to promote the tourism industry in the country and J&K state in particular on the request of Hotel and Restaurant Association Katra and other organizations in order to increase the stay of more than one crore pilgrims coming to Mata Vaishnodeviji had recently asked Commissioner Secretary Tourism J&K Atul Dulloo to send a detailed report along with estimate and plans so that a project on the lines of Cheshma Awami being developed in Bren (Kashmir) be also developed in Cheryai Kagha with 100 percent funding from the union Ministry of Tourism. It is pertinent to mention here that Cheryai Kagha is already a famous ancient spot of 15th century developed by then ruler and all the remains of ancient times in the form of old art structures, water bodies, temples are still there which reminds of the beautiful work done during that period. This tourist spot is fully surrounded by the old chinars and other species. |
