| Barnoti residents block NH over disruption of power | | |

Kathua, Aug 6: The vehicular movement on Jammu-Pathankot national highway remained closed following protest demonstration lodged by residents of Barnoti against alleged negligence of PDD to restore power supply since last five days. The protesting people also reported water scarcity in the area.
A protester Neena Devi said that poisonous reptiles were roaming here and there in rainly area which might prove fatal.
"The studies of students are hampered in last five days while the terror of thieves is also giving sleepless nights to them", she added. Tarsem Kumar, Nirmala devi and other protesters blamed PDD for delay in replacing transformer. Later police officers intervened and pacified the protesters, following which protesters lifted blockade. |
