| Minority community in Kishtwar aghast over Omar's insensitivity | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 23: Minority community in Kishtwar is enraged with the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for not only keeping off so many days after the violence but also for not taking their demands seriously. The minority community has continued to observe bandh to express their dissatisfaction over response of the Government and insensitivity shown by the Chief Minister. "Omar has shown total insensitivity to our feelings. Being a head of the Government he should have come here and held talks with us. But not only has he refused to conced to our demands, he has shown how the CM cares for minorities in the State," said a resident of Kishtwar. Minorities in Kishtwar have suffered most in the violent clashes and are demanding removal of DIG Ashkoor Wani and also CBI inquiry into the incident. The Government has only removed DC and SSP Kishtwar. "The Government must accept the demands of any community which has suffered in the violence. Here the minorities have suffered most so their demands should have been accepted. And shifting the named officer could restore the confidence of minority then it should be done immediately," said a senior official, wishing not to be named. There is feeling in the community that if the Government doesn't act fast, then they will be forced to migrate from the Kishtwar. Some of the businessmen had already suffered number of times in the past also. The minority community is waiting for the response of the Government as it has failed utterly in the past and has done only cosmetic efforts, which stands exposed. "Even a signal of migration of even few families would be a major disaster for the Government." Said another resident of Kishtwar. |
