Out of turn promotion in Police
HC directs DGP to file supplementary affidavit

Jammu, Aug 23 : In a petition filed by Mohd Ashraf seeking out of turn promotion against the post of Assistant Sub Inspector in police dept on the strengthen of policy framed by the respondents. Justice Ali Mohd Magrey after hearing Adv Rahul Pant for the petitioner whereas Sr. AAG Gagan Basotra for the state observed that in order to appreciate the rival contentions of the counsels for the parties, it has become necessary to directed the respondents to file supplementary affidavit and explain, "as to whether" the policy framed for according benefit to the police personnel for out of turn promotion stands notified, so as to enable the eligible officials/ officers for claiming the said benefit.
A copy of the policy of notified shall also be made available before this Court on the next date of hearing and directed DGP to file supplementary affidavit within four weeks.( JNF)
