JAMMU, Aug 23: Sachdeva Leopards and Cemtec Stars won their respective matches in the Jammu and Kashmir Corporate Premier League (JKCPL) underway at school ground, Bijbihara, here today.
In the first match of the day, Sachdeva Leopards trounced Kanwal Tigers by 19 runs. Batting first, Sachdeva set a target of 160 runs for eight wickets. In reply, Kanwal Tigers bowled out for 140 runs in 19.4 overs.
Mosin Ramzan made highest 47-ball 51 runs with the help of six fours and one six. Vimarsh Kaw, Asif Rasool and Javid Mir contributed 28, 27 and 15 runs respectively. From Kanwal Tigers, Mehjoor remained most successful bowler with four wickets while Irfan Ahmad, Aqib Nazir, Abid Nazir and Abid Nabi shared apiece each.
Batting second, Kanwal Tigers lost all their wickets for 140 runs in 19.4 overs. Amir Sofi made 32 (off 27 balls, 3x4) runs while Dr Imran and Aqib Nazir added 21 and 20 runs respectively.
Zahoor Sofi bowled deadly spell taking away five wickets, followed by Asif Rasool, who bagged two. For his match winning five-wicket haul, Zahoor Sofi was named man of the match. Meanwhile, in another match of the day, Cemtec Stars defeated the star-studded side of Simula Bulls by five wickets.
Earlier, batting first, Simula could make 109 runs when whole side bowled out for 18.5 overs. Pankaj Ladda and Gulzar Ahmed were main scorers with 29 and 22 runs in their respective accounts. From Cemtec Stars, Imtiyaz Malla took three wickets while Mehrajuddin and Tahir bagged two wickets each.
In reply, Cemtec Stars chased the total making 113 runs in 19.3 overs losing five wickets. Waseem Raja made highest 40 runs. Waseem and Huwaid Hamid contributed 22 and 21 runs respectively. Hardeep Singh emerged as most successful bowler from Simulah with three wickets. For his match winning innings of 40 runs, Waseem Raja was declared man of the match. |
