| KATRA, Aug 23: The Aadhaar enrolment drive is gaining momentum in district Reasi with Additional Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Katra, Dr M K Bhandari launching the enrolment drive in Katra today. The programme is being executed under the supervision of District Development Commissioner, Reasi, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary. "Our enumerators will visit each household and provide a Know Your Resident (KYR) form with the date, time and place of registration". Residents can submit the biometric data for the NPR. Data collected by the NPR is sent to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) for de-duplication and issuance of Aadhaar number informed Chaman Lal AD, DSEO. This ambitious project of the census department covers people above the age of five. An individual's demographic details and biometric parameters, fingerprints and iris images are collected and an Aadhaar number is issued. Aadhaar numbers will be linked to bank accounts to provide benefits under various schemes, including LPG subsidy. |
