UDHAMPUR, Aug 23 : An awareness programme "Empowering Skilled Young Women" was organized by J&K State Women Development Corporation (JKSWDC) in collaboration with PG Department of Home Science (CRM&E) Government College for Women Parade, Jammu. District Manager WDC Jammu Dr Rifat Qamar the Resource Person, apprised the students about the various Women Development and Education schemes (NMDFC, NHBC,ESW etc.) specially for women belonging to different categories i.e Minorities, SC/ST/OBC/ Handicapped etc. Dr Hemla Aggrawal, Principal GCW Parade Jammu was the chief guest. Also present on the occasion were Dr Shashi Kaul, Dr Aruna Dubey and Dr Neeru Dhalla. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Nidhi Kotwal said that women today have entered industrial sector due to the various schemes/Loans offered by WDC which has lead to removal of earlier obstacles while Dr Hemla Aggrawal appreciated the efforts of WDC & PG Department for organizing the programme and said it is right time to concentrate on women education as first priority so that they play an effective role in the society. |
