SRINAGAR, Aug 26: Superb unbeaten innings of 34 runs from Shashi Kumar today guided Simula Bulls to fine six wickets win over Saifco Lions in the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Corporate Premier League (JKCPL), here.
Earlier, batting first, Saifco set a target of 148 runs for eight, which, in reply, Simula attained in 17.5 overs losing four wickets.
Majid Bhat and Punit Bisht were top scorers with 43 (off 33 balls, 5x4, 3x6) and 38 runs in their respective accounts while Fayaz Hazari contributed 22 runs to the total.
Mayank Gautam was most successful bowler from Simula with two wickets. Hilal Rather, Hardeep Singh, Sameer Khajuria, Amandeep Singh and Vikram Singh were other wicket takers, who shared apiece each.
Later, Simula Bulls chased the total making 149 runs for four wickets in 17.5 overs. Shashi Kumar made unbeaten innings of 26-ball 34 runs including three fours and one six. Hardeep Singh contributed 28 runs while Yasir Ahmed added valuable 22 runs.
Dhruv Mahajan and Sameer Khajuria (not out) scored 21 runs each. From Saifco Lions, Rohit Sharma, Omar Alam, Dr Asim and Mehrajuddin took one wicket each. For his match wining knock, Shashi was declared man of the match. |
