Jammu, Aug 26: The messy affairs in office of Zonal Education Office Purmandal, could be well gauged from the fact that two months since promotion of around two dozen teachers, all are without salaries, owing to failure of ZEO Purmandal to discharge her duties. Sources informed Early Times that around two months back, two dozen teachers from Purmandal Zone were promoted to Master grade and were transferred to various districts of Jammu province. "Since last two months ZEO Purmandal was on leave and in her absence, the promoted teachers didn't get their Last Pay Certificate (LPC) and Service Book that was necessary for them to draw salaries from their new places of posting", sources said. They further informed that some of the promoted teachers have been posted in Kishtwar and have been shuttling to the office of ZEO Purmandal, but all in vain. "We have been coming here for the last two months but every time are told that ZEO is on leave. We have yet to get our LPC, which is mandatory for promoted teachers for getting our salaries", a teachers said. Another teacher rued that they were facing severe financial constraints, as without salaries for two months they were compelled to borrow loans from relatives. "It is only due to careless attitude of ZEO Purmandal that LPCs and Service Books have not been given to us. When we were serving in Purmandal zone, we were getting salaries at the end of every month and now we are being harassed due to failure of ZEO to issue LPC", he said, apprehending that they might not get salary of third month also.
The teachers further said that some days back the ZEO rejoined the office after long leave of two months but was still sitting over the LPCs of promoted teachers.
"It is the responsibility of ZEO to provide LPC and Service book within one week after transfer, but ZEO Purmandal has failed to discharge her official duties", the teachers alleged. They appealed Director School Education to take strict action against ZEO, so that the promoted teachers would not suffer more. |
